Tim Murphy
is a Colorado native who brings his passion for the outdoors to his work as an
architectural photographer. His eye for natural scale, the interplay of light,
color and form, have infused his work with a unique signature that has made him
a favorite among architects and designers in the Rocky Mountain region.
After
graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Fine Arts he
quickly began taking assignments with local and national shelter magazines. His
ability to convert architectural assignments into national publicity for his
clients has made him especially valuable.
Tim grasps
the essentials of the Colorado lifestyle and expresses them with creative verve
and insight. His career has occupied the vanguard of the national and
international mystique of living and playing in the mountains of Colorado.
His roots
in silver-based photography have served him well in the transition to digital
photography. He is fully equipped with the latest breakthroughs in photographic
technology, allowing him to provide film quality detail in 66 megabyte files.
Tim appreciates the environmental impact of eliminating chemicals, combined
with the flexibility and range of options presented by the move to digital.
His
photographic skills are complimented by Tim’s esprit de corps,
his impeccable listening skills, and his ability to translate his client’s
vision into beautiful images. Results and client satisfaction are balanced with
artistic integrity.
Not only
does he photograph the Colorado lifestyle, he lives it. For the last nine years
he has lived in the eclectic town of Nederland, seventeen miles west of
Boulder. His open timber home rests ten minutes from Eldora Ski Resort, five
minutes from an outdoor ice rink, and twenty minutes from the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
He shares this life with Beth, his wife, and two sons, Westley and Parker. Between his winter photography assignments he manages the Nederland Ice Rink and directs the Youth Hockey Program.
